The Subgroup Rough Terrain Trucks was created in 2006 to address topics specific to the category of industrial trucks used outdoor, on non-prepared ground.

Three types of trucks can be distinguished for uses in three different markets:

  • Agriculture, forestry
  • Construction
  • Industry, mining, waste
Objectives

The main purpose of the group is to safeguard the interests of the industry, in particular at standard and regulation level.

The group also aims to offer a meeting platform for manufacturers.

Members

The Subgroup consists of members from France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Activities

Subgroup Rough Terrain Trucks mainly address technical and regulatory topics:

  • Preparation to standard development (CEN, ISO, or others)
  • European legislation
  • Market concerns (barriers to free trade, pending legislation, market surveillance and more)

The current work items include:

  • Machinery regulation (EU) 2023/1230
  • Energy transition (electric drives, fuel cell)
  • Pending European road regulation for non-road mobile machinery
  • Revision of the Outdoor Noise Directive
  • Revision of harmonised standards
